You think you know someone....

But then it comes to buying an anniversary present and you realise how little you really do know! In case you hadn't already guessed it is mine and my partners anniversary tomorrow. Today i have to go and buy a gift and do i know what to get? nope, not a clue. I have this dilemma every birthday, christmas and anniversary. I ask myself the same questions "what would he like?" "what does he need?" "does he want something he needs or something he wants?". He isn't a typical guy who loves football, the pub and gadgets although, my job of gift buying would be made a lot easier if he did like those things. He doesn't like jewellery and he doesn't really have any hobbies outside of his job other than music and i wouldn't have a clue what i was looking for in that department anyway. The worst part of this is that he has the car at the moment and won't be home until 4.30 which only gives me roughly an hour of shops being open to actually buy something!! He is, without a doubt, the hardest person in the world to buy for. I have searched online for some ideas for well over an hour now and so far all i have found are things so unbelievably soppy that you would be ashamed to have them on show!  I have been down the road of nice traditional gifts, slippers, socks, jumpers....but then i realised that we are entering summer and these gifts might not come into use for another year! Also, he hates slippers! (who hates slippers?!) There are things he wants but unfortunately, i do not have a magic money tree to be able to afford such things.....such as a decent fountain pen, an ebook reader, a new computer (again, very out of my depth here!). I have even tried asking a couple of male friends on their opinion but, as my partner acts his age, my male friends act their shoe size and would still love a hooker or a remote control car as a present. I have a chore on my hands today, i shall update with what i manage to buy and wether he likes it or not. Wish me luck

PS: This job has been made doubly difficult as it is also mothers day tomorrow and as my partner is the No.1 most difficult person to buy for in my life, it just so happens that my mother is No.2! Excellent
